He Took His Skin Off For Me – A Kickstarter Campaign

I’ve never backed a Kickstarter project before but then again I’ve never come across anything that intrigued me as much as Ben Aston’s short film in-the-making. Based on a story by Maria Hummer (which you can read over HERE), the film is a meditation on love, sacrifice and the consequences thereof.

Besides the premise of the project, what I love is the fact that Mr. Aston is keen on eschewing CGI in favour of more traditional make-up and prosthetics. I have long since fallen out of love with CGI, with its fake hyper-reality, so applause applause and kudos to the HTHSOFM team. And as if this wasn’t amazing enough, they got  Colin Arthur on board to help with the effects. He worked with such giants as Stanley Kubrick, Ray Harryhausen and John Milius. He is also Falcor‘s daddy.

Anyway. Visit the Kickstarter page for more info, straight from the filmmakers’ mouths. It’s an amazing project that deserves to be backed up.
